Cash Game Festival’s Take on Poker Summer Pros & Cons

Cash Game Festival’s poker summer 2018 will take us to two summer stops, both of which are already very familiar to you. On July 11th – 15th, we will be in London at the Aspers Casino Stratford. On August 8th – 12th, we will be in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria at the  Platinum Casino. A week in London and then a week on the beach in Bulgaria – balancing out our poker summer vacation the best we can. With summer approaching at light speed, we started thinking about poker and summer. Is summer good for poker players? What are the pros and cons of this sunny season in terms of the game of poker? Let’s find out.

PROS

Good Time for Poker Travel in Europe

The weather in Europe is nice in the summer. No need to pack heavy coats and cardigans with you. Pack light, maybe add a thin rain coat or a windbreaker to your travel list and you are good to go. Hand luggage all the way when talking about a week long poker travel.
Also, sightseeing in new cities are made much easier by the friendly weather conditions. No need to fight heavy rain or slippery streets. Just walk around and enjoy some beautiful new locations in the sun.

Vacation Time

Many of you have jobs unrelated to poker. Doesn’t it feel that there is just not enough time for poker? Now is your chance to  turn your summer vacation into a full poker summer vacation.
Other players have vacations too which means there are more players around. Don’t you just love it? This means more good games that may lead to more profit. Let’s be real. We all love when our favorite activity brings in extra cash. No need to deny this.

Time to Be Healthy

A healthy body has a healthy mind. A healthy mind helps you to play better poker. We have written about it before. With its sunny days and warm evenings, summer is inspiring many to kick-start their health routines.
So, what are you waiting for? Go hiking or hop on a bike. Get those muscles moving and exercise those tensions away. Or simply meditate in the sun. All for the good cause of acing on the felt.

With the school holidays and vacation times, you have more time for bonding with your family and friends. Why not use the game of poker to help you re-connect with your nearest and dearest? Don’t just grill and fool around. Instead, arrange a fun poker night for your kids and their friends. Or invite the whole family over and show them how good poker is played. You could even arrange a poker theme party.  Play for peanuts if you deem it best. That way, everybody can feel comfortable with their cards. Just pick the dry-roasted peanuts. You don’t want to get the oil and salt on your fingers.

In addition to action-packed cash games, our festival is offering more than just poker. Our live events have a very social atmosphere on and off the felt. Adding a cherry on top, our hospitality events will take you to explore the cities, engage in fun activities and let your party on summer nights. Sometimes, we even go see domestic lions. Summer and poker is an excellent match! Long summer nights are perfect for poker with friends. And there are so many cool places to visit during the summer, easily combined with a poker festival. My trip to Gibraltar last summer for the Cash Game Festival was a great one, and I’m hopping to do it again soon. This year we will have the Norgwegian Championships during the summer instead of November like before, and it will be great! The sun, bathing in the ocean, poker and a lot of fun!

CONS

Online Poker

When you are a poker pro, most likely, you need to put in some serious hours of online poker all year round. This means a lot of long and rather intense hours in front of a computer. You need to sit inside while the sun is shining outside and your friends are at the beach or grilling on a lake.
Or if you grind all night, you need to sleep in the morning which means that you will miss many beautiful and fresh summer mornings. This can make some people very sad. You need to take a break and seriously consider coming to Cash Game Festival 2018 summer stops. This may save your poker summer. 😉

Family Vacations

Your family wants 100% of your time on summer vacations but you just want to grind two weeks straight. What will you do in this situation? Divorce and send the kids to a month long summer camp? Or “buy” them with impressive gifts? You will figure it out but there are some tough decisions to be made.

Las Vegas Will Be Burning Hot

With the WSOP and all other poker action happening in Las Vegas, you will definitely want to visit the poker paradise in the middle of a desert. Prepare for the heat form hell. Sure, air conditioning is top notch in the States. Just maybe forget the long walks on sunny streets. You are going to be hot and bothered and will turn red like a lobster when you forget to apply maximum protection sunscreen. Sorry for sounding so negative. We are just trying to find something to balance out the article here. Hard to find anything negative at all about poker summers.
Considering, that there are more pros than cons, summer is an enjoyable time for poker players. Take the maximum and find some time for Cash Game Festival as well. You will not regret it.
