LONDON SEPTEMBER 2017

The Cash Game Festival fall edition at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City in London was a great success for us. We played good cash games and grew our CGF family even bigger. It is great to be the meeting point of like-minded people across Europe. People not only socialize but also make friends at our festivals – some of these friendships have already led to meetups outside the festival, even to wedding invites. Feels great to be a part of something bigger than just poker. Of course, poker is an integral part of the CGF. After all, we are a poker festival. However, it is wonderful that poker is also a vehicle for friendships and fun at the CGF.

This time, our London record was 26 simultaneously running cash game poker tables. Of course, there were plenty of hours of more than 20 tables running. Even in the early Sunday afternoon, on the 5th day of the festival, Aspers’ poker room was much busier than it normally would be at that time of the week, according to Aspers’ staff members.

For the first time in CGF history, we awarded the biggest TV table winner with our very own TV table trophy. Since our live feature tables, two per day or ten per 5-day festivals, have various stakes, we found the winner by counting big blinds – the trophy went to a player who won the most big blinds.

We are very pleased to announce that the first ever TV table trophy went to Norway. Jon Kristian Kyte from Bergen was the biggest winner of all live sessions in London. He secured the trophy by winning £4,290 or 858 big blinds. According to Jon, this was his second ever trophy in poker. His first came in 2016 from Norwegian Championships & JP Masters, Dublin where he landed the 3rd place.

We are also very happy to send four London-based players to our next stop in Dublin, Ireland via CGF High Hand Game that took place at Aspers Casino during the festival. These lucky winners won CGF very own package to the next destination. The package is worth €1500 and includes hotels for 2, CGF hospitality packages for 2 and €500 stake money for the winner. The players can easily take their poker or non-poker friends to Dublin and have a very nice time together, since hotel rooms and fun activities with free food and drinks are provided.

This time in London, our fun side activities included simulation golf, sightseeing, Sunday beers, beer pong party and fancy dinner with our Partners, qualifiers, package winners, special guests, such as William Kassouf, and the players who purchased our hospitality packages. On the opening day, we provided welcome drinks at around 5 PM which offered a great chance to meet and greet.

To sum up, we would like to say that we truly rocked London once again. Moreover, we are very pleased to see our poker family growing at each festival. We love poker, we love people and we love FUN. Let’s meet again in London in 2018!
