LONDON JANUARY 2019

The Cash Game Festival kicked off 2019 in style by heading back to Aspers Casino, located in the British capital of London, for the seventh time in tour history on Jan. 30 to Feb. 3. London holds a special place in our hearts as this is where the tour left its home of Tallinn, Estonia to officially become an international tour three years ago.

As always, the poker action was amazing with dozens of tables running around the clock across many games including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, Sviten Special, and Super Dealer’s Choice. We came one table away from breaking our own record for the most cash games ran at Aspers Casino with 27 running simultaneously on Day 3.

It was looking for awhile that 32Red Poker qualifier Mick Smith would claim the Cash Game Festival trophy for winning the most big blinds at any of our ten televised feature tables after he booked £1,270 in profit or 635 big blinds in a £2/£2 PLO feature table.

However, Smith’s hopes were dashed by Kevin Malone who instead won a massive pot during the final hand of the last feature table to book a profit of £2,065 or 1,032.5 big blinds at £2/£2 PLO. This was the third trophy for Malone, separating himself from both Norway’s Jon Kyte and Cash Game Festival Co-Founder Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk who have won two each.

Our VIP hospitality once again players with similar interests a chance to meet-up away from the tables and become part of the Cash Game Festival family. As has been tradition in London, players had fun competing during our beer pong party at the Bat and Ball. Other events included welcome drinks in the poker room, an early dinner at the Cabana Brazil, beer tasting at Tap East, and a fantastic guided tour around Queen Elizabeth Park.

We are pleased to say that we truly crushed London once again. Special thanks to Aspers Casino and its amazing staff! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
