The Cash Game Festival returned to Malta after a two-year break with a completely fresh look. For the first time, the festival visited the Portomaso Casino, which is well-known for its hospitality, service, and of course hosts the best poker games on the island.
This was not all that was new as it was the first time the festival was seven days instead of the usual five with it taking place on May 13-19. This gave the players more time to enjoy the perfect Maltese weather in the spring.
This is not all as it is the first time the festival partnered with the Malta Poker
Championships (MPC), which was a huge success in its own right. There is a good reason why we never partnered with the MPC before as this was its inaugural event and we hope it isn’t the last time we partner with its event founder Ivonne Montealegre who brought her own level of service to poker players.
Another first took place as for the first time a woman took down the CGF trophy with Karen Muir winning 922 big blinds at a €2/€2 pot-limit Omaha feature table. The only surprise here is how Karen didn’t win a trophy earlier as she has been to many stops and has proven to be an excellent ring game player.
Players with the hospitality package enjoyed tons of activities including a pool party, a VIP dinner, bowling, and much more.
A special thanks once again to Portomaso Casino for their amazing hospitality! See you again soon!
