LONDON SEPTEMBER 2016

In March/April 2016 the first ever Cash Game Festival was held abroad from the country of origin Estonia. The destination for that festival was set to be the Capital of Europe; London, United Kingdom. And now, we are ready for another epic stop in the same city.

Cash Game Festival will be held at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City, Englands only super casino. This means that Aspers is big on choice, not only do they have one of the biggest card rooms in Europe, they also offer a great variety of table games like Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card poker, Punto Banco and the Superwheel. On top of that you can dine in style at Clary’s Restaurant or enjoy a quick snack in Tanzibar. Another favourite for regulars as well as non gamers is their cocktail bar, the Sky Bar with its open roof terrace, regular live music acts and stunning décor.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VISITORS TO THE CASINO

At Aspers you need to be over 18 years old as well as bring an ID if you are a first time visitor. The casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 364 days a year, yes, they are closed on Christmas Day. The dress code is smart, relaxed and stylish, like the casino itself.

The casino is located on the 3rd floor of Aspers in Westfield, Stratford City. To find out how to get to the casino or to Westfield Stratford City please check this informative page: https://uk.westfield.com/stratfordcity/centre-info/getting-here.

THE PREVIOUS STOP IN LONDON

During the previous stop this year, a lot of fun besides poker occurred. The first ever ping pong challenge in a casino was held, where the swede Michael went all the way to the top. Besides that, we offered players and partners welcome drinks, dinners and sightseeing with a twist. Now, that autumn knocks on the door, we plan to repeat the success and make it even better than the last time.

The first stop gave us a whopping 25+ tables running – simultaneously. And for this event, we aim to break that and do it with style. A qualified guess is that we will have 30+ tables running simultaneously during this stop and we have been ensured that Aspers Casino and poker manager John Scanlon will help to do everything possible to gather all cash game poker players in London under the same roof at the same time. That gives us epic possibilities to set a record hard to break!

If you need accommodation, then Cash Game Festival is happy to announce that through a partnership with Main Event Travel we can offer a great selection of hotels and travel arrangements throughout the festival in a close distance to the casino or why not in the city centre since the casino is just a few tube stops from the major attractions of the great city of London.

LONDON AS A CASH GAME POKER DESTINATION

London is the perfect poker destination, famous for it’s tournaments as well as cash game scene. There are several fully functioning card rooms and casinos dealing the game we love. Most popular formats in the area are No Limit Texas Hold’em but Pot Limit Omaha and other games are getting more attention. Add to that, Drawmaha, or Sviten Special, which first occurred during our last stop there but got well welcomed to that poker scene.

Card rooms like Aspers Casino Westfield, Casino at the Empire, Victoria Casino and Genting Casino Cromwell Mint are all very popular and they do give the causal player as well as the professional a good variety of levels and games. Of course the existing cash game poker community in London is looking forward for the stop of Cash Game Festival in their home town for a second time and expectations are high for 5 days of action.

If you look at poker events and occasions in resent history that have taken place there are a lot of them which might interest you, here we mention a few milestones in the London poker scene:

PokerStars European Poker Tour / EPT Season 1 hosted it’s second stop in London and apart from the Grand Final that season, the London event had the largest prize pool of all stops. During the following 10 seasons, leading up to season 11 London was a sure fixture on the tour. But now when we are at season 12 there is no London stop.

888poker and their tournament series 888Live has started to become a regular fixture for many casual players, and with options of massive fields and not too expensive buy-in this seems to be a format that attract casual players.

Not in London, but truly worth mentioning related to the poker scene in UK and in a near distance of the capital is the Dusk Till Dawn Poker and Casino Nottingham with 45 poker tables under one roof and amazing staff making it a logical place to visit for any cash game player.

Poker history was made in London during the Million Dollar Cash Game season 4 filmed in London where Phil Ivey lost against Tom “Durrrr” Dwan with a turned wheel against the nut straight with zero outs to win the $1.1 million poker hand. This turn card for sure was an action card in London! and made the world realize how important the cash games are for the visibility of poker in media.

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING DURING CASH GAME FESTIVAL LONDON 2016

Not only will there be cash game poker action 24h over all five days at a level of play that suits you (regardless if you are a smaller buy-in player or a high stakes poker professional) but we will offer activities outside of the poker room to.

The hospitality package schedule is currently under development and will be announced here as soon as everything is locked. Although, we can ensure you that the last stops happenings also will be beaten by having a new sport challenge and even more fancy dinners and other twisted happenings.
